"Participants wanted to facilitate integration of climate science with local knowledge, planning, and practice. They want ready-made tools they can use when climate extremes occur. Tools to assist adaptation in the event of rapid changes in weather (e.g., drought one year, flood the next) would be especially beneficial. There was heavy emphasis on proactive planning for climate events."
